It’s a bright, beautiful winter day here in Toronto – although it is SUPER chilly out there! It’s also a PA Day so my school kiddos are home with me. That makes it a perfect day to drink hot cocoa (with marshmallows of course!) and listen to podcasts (Wow in the World, anyone?) while we snuggle up on the couch.
I personally love Valentine’s Day. Ever since my first baby girl came to join us, I have taken Valentine’s Day photos to share with friends and fam. What’s not to love about pinks and reds and purples… hearts and kisses and hugs? Especially in the middle of a long, cold winter. It also crosses over with Family Day weekend here in Ontario – which is quite lovely. Whether your family of choice or circumstance, it lifts us all up to share a little happiness and love.
Even pre-marriage I loved it. I would host little get together’s with my single girlfriends and we would sip mini bottles of bubbles with pink straws and watch Sex and the City. Sigh. Those were the days 😊. I still have the red heart pillows I bought for those little celebrations and they come out every Valentine’s Day which my 7-year-old adores.
Here are our valentines from this year – I love how they turned out. It’s so much fun for the girls to give these out to their friends (and it’s nice for the other parents to get to know the faces of the other kiddos in the class!)! What do you think? Would your little ones like having these unique mini cards to give out to their friends on heart day?
From our hearts to yours, Happy Valentine’s Day!

PS – Don’t forget about a little self-love this Valentine’s Day – especially for you mamas out there who never seem to fit it in. I’m going to a pop-up yoga class at my studio this eve that is a vinyasa WITH an aromatherapy massage! How’s that for self-care? xo
